Job Description

Summary

Baylor College of Medicine and is part of the world-renowned Texas Medical Center located in Houston, Texas, which offers a highly interactive environment and a strong infrastructure for research and career development. We are seeking highly skilled and motivated scientists with expertise in cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, genomics, and/or mouse genetics to join the laboratory of Dr. Diana Monsivais, leading an endometrial biology group in the Department of Pathology & Immunology and member of the Center for Drug Discovery at Baylor College of Medicine.

Job Duties

・Participates in early stage drug discovery in collaboration with scientists within the academic community, with a goal of bringing new treatments to patients with unmet medical needs.

・Contributes to multidisciplinary lead-finding project teams by engaging in the following state-of-the art activities: production, purification, and/or testing of recombinant proteins; screening of DNA-encoded chemical libraries; evaluation of compounds for efficacy in vitro (biochemical and cell-based assays) and in vivo; validation of targets using mouse genetics; and/or generation of DNA vectors.

・Uses genetically engineered mouse models, primary human tissues, 3-dimensional organoids, and high resolution microscopy to uncover the biological mechanisms that underpin endometrial regeneration.

・Performs molecular biology and vector construction; mouse colony management, mammalian cell culture CRISPR/Cas9; and/or generation and analysis of mouse knockouts.

Minimum Qualifications

・MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.

・No experience required.

・Candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
