Offer Description

Nanostructure Physics Group at the University of Ostrava, the Czech Republic, is looking for a progressive, ambitious, and innovative postdoctoral researcher with a focus on electronic structure modeling of 2D materials to join its team under the European and Global Marie Skłodowska-Curie 2023 Postdoctoral fellowship program.

Requirements for applicants

・ Background in computational physics, material science, quantum chemistry, or related fields

・ Ph.D. degree (up to 8 years from obtaining) in the mentioned or similar disciplines

・ Prior experience with atomistic modeling or computational science, experience with plane-wave codes (as VASP), scripting, or programming

・ Publications related to electronic structure modeling of 2D materials (at least one first-authored paper in Q1 journal in WOS)

・ Experience with involvement in the projects

・ Good written and oral communication skills in English

・ Ability to work independently

・ Not staying in the Czech Republic for more than 12 months during the last 3 years at the time of the deadline
