Research Associate/Postdoc (all genders) in Raman spectroscopy and Imaging

The full position is to be filled as soon as possible and initially limited forthree years.

Your Tasks:

Within the research project "Raman spectroscopy and imaging", novel amplification methods and imagingtechniques will be developed and applied. The methods are primarily based on vibrational spectroscopy (infraredand Raman spectroscopy) and exhibit extremely high chemical selectivity. These methods should be applied ininterdisciplinary biomedical and pharmaceutical topics.

Your Profile

Experience in designing and building optical setups for Raman spectroscopy/microscopy/imaging

Experience in fiber optic sensors, e.g. for the detection of biomarkers or gases

Experience regarding the application of spectroscopic measurement principles for the analysis of biomedical samples, including experience in the collection and processing of clinical data

Knowledge regarding the development of optical measurement principles to techniques for use in biomedical research

Knowledge in analyzing spectroscopic data and the use of scientific software and programming

Knowledge of Raman spectroscopy, gas sensors and fiber optics

Outstanding scientific publications in the field of Raman spectroscopy and fiber optics with biomedical applications" as (co-)first author in high- ranking international journals

Interest in interdisciplinary teamwork

Enthusiasm and scientific ambition

Very good oral and written communication skills in English

We are looking for an excellent candidate with university degree and a doctorate (biomedical physics, photonics,electrical engineering, physical chemistry, physics, engineering or equivalent). We require that you are selfmotivated, reliable, creative, and to work independent on the relevant research tasks.
