Position summary

The School of Food and Nutritional Sciences in the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science, UCC is internationally recognised for excellence in education, research, and training programmes. It is unique in Ireland for its commitment to food science and technology, food business, food biotechnology, food, and health. The School of Food and Nutritional Sciences at UCC has been, and remains, majorly involved in national, international and industrial research programmes. It occupies a dedicated Food Science and Technology complex, including an extensive food processing hall (cheese, bakery, beverage and muscle foods) and a range of specialised laboratory facilities (food packaging, sensory, shelf-life testing). Currently, Cereal and Beverage Science Research Group (CBSRG) consists of 1 Senior research coordinator - Lab Manager, 4 post-docs, 10 PhD students, and 3 MSc students. The state-of-the-art analytical and processing facilities allow us to perform research at the highest scientific level. The CBSRG has been successful in securing funding from Anheuser-Busch InBev, Leuven, Belgium. Hence, we are currently recruiting for the following Post-Doctoral Researcher post with qualified knowledge of analytical protein chemistry and food fermentation to investigate and modulate protein functionality, for which funding has been awarded for one year.

Post Duration: 1 year

Salary: 欧元41,207 - 欧元47,477 p.a. (IUA Salary Scale)

Project Title: Upcycling brewing by-products into beverages and/or food ingredients.
