About This Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to focus their efforts on developing their expertise and emerging research profile in their discipline. This position will be studying the blood-tissue interface at the microcirculatory level in both humans and in a porcine trauma model. Expertise in assay development for glycoproteins of the glycocalyx and optimisation including both ELISA, LCMS and Western Blotting and willingness to learn techniques. The group is also exploring microvesicles production and their role in endothelial activation. The main focus of work is based at St Lucia Campus, but some activity will be at Gatton Campus.

Research

Supervision and HDR Development

Contribute to grant submissions

Service and engagement

About You

Completion of a PhD in related areas

Drive and enthusiastic engagement in the area of research with originality of thought

An emerging research profile and career goal

Familiarity with specific assay and other laboratory techniques

Evidence of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences

Evidence of contributions towards successfully obtaining external research funding

Some experience in meaningful internal service roles and contributions towards external activities

What We Can Offer

This is a Full time, fixed-term position for up to 2 years at Academic Level A.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $72,144.35 - $96,530.67 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $84,408.89 - $112,940.88 per annum.
