THE ROLE

We are seeking a suitably qualified Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work with A/Prof Yuling Wang and her team on the funded Cancer Council NSW project (RG 12-22). You are expected to:

Be part of an innovative project to develop a new biomedical device for better understanding of molecular features of breast cancer-derived small extracellular vesicles in patient samples.

Publish original and innovative results in refereed journals.

Build your skills in biomedical engineering, microfabrication, microfluidics, cell biology, and nanomaterials.

Present research at national/international conferences.

Take responsibility for the health and safety in the workplace.

Essential:

PhD in biomedical engineering (or similar), analytical biochemistry, biosensors, or equivalent qualifications.

Experience in a related area, with a track record of independent research as evidenced by publications.

Familiarity with fabrication of microfluidic devices, nanobiotechnology, molecular biology, bioassay and bioanalysis.

Experience in project leadership, including in an interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary team, with the ability to design, conduct and analyse research project.

High quality interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to effectively engage with internal and external collaborators and the delivery of presentations to a range of audiences.

Desirable:

Experience in cell biology and biotechnology.

Experience in molecular omics and plasmonic nanomaterials.

Salary Package: Level A Step 6 (PhD) from $97,621 to $104,622 p.a., plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading

Appointment Type: Full-time, fixed-term up to 2.5 years with the potential for extension.
