Job description

Our new computational genomics lab is seeking motivated and creative postdoctoral fellows, who will bring computational and/or statistical skills and use genomic data to study cancers. The research goal is to gain novel insights into cancer etiology and pinpoint highly effective therapeutic targets which could possibly overcome the common problem of drug resistance in cancer treatments.

Applicants are required to have a PhD degree in related fields (e.g., computational biology, genetics) and have a proven record in either computational or biostatistical research. Proficiency in R and/or Python programming is required. Skills and knowledge in statistics and genetics/genomics/biology are preferred. Successful applicants will join the research community at the Department of Genetics and Genome Sciences and the Comprehensive Cancer Center of Case Western Reserve University, where the researcher will be provided with a great environment and necessary resources from well-funded programs to perform research. The mentor and faculties at the department will also strongly support lab members to achieve their career goals.

The postdoctoral researcher will be expected to participate in study design, conduct research, solve technical issues, participate in manuscript writing, make formal presentations, help other lab members with his/her expertise, apply for fellowships if available, and build professional and communication skills along the research period which is expected for three years. We hope our postdoctoral researchers will be motivated by and enjoy our promising research that could make a change, while having a good work-life balance along the road to success.
